The Alice Malice review

If you like cosplay, you'll find the photo galleries in The Alice Malice arousing. Alice dresses up in a wide variety of costumes, ranging from the usual secretary to something more extreme, like a vampire. Additional photo sets revolve around the themes of arachnid, cowgirl, trashy goth, mistress, poison, punk, faerie, succubus, magician, and more.

There are plenty of photos for you to enjoy, with Alice staying in costume for a large part of each of the sets. This is refreshing if you're in to cosplay and don't necessarily want to see nudity. Some cosplay sites miss the mark by showing the model in a costume for maybe 1/10th of the photo set with the rest being nudity. There is, however, nudity, but it definitely takes a back seat to the fetish and cosplay outfits.

Unfortunately, there are no videos to enjoy, so you have to content yourself with just the photos.

Tech Talk

As I mentioned above, there are no videos within The Alice Malice. Apparently they are coming soon, but it would be really nice if Alice could put a simple message on the page and an estimated time of when she thinks the videos will be available. Hopefully she will get videos soon, since offering them will help make her website a contender in the cosplay genre.

There are over 40 photo galleries, all dealing with a particular cosplay or alternative theme. Unfortunately, the galleries aren't zip downloadable, but there is a slide show option available. The photos open to 535x800, but enlarge to 2000x1339 pixels. They're pretty good quality, especially when you consider this an amateur site. There are around 100 pictures in each gallery.

A few galleries seem to be available in .rar archives. They are over 800 MBs large! They contain the full uncompressed images from that set and look awesome. It may be a bit much though - would be much better if every set was offered as a compressed file with slightly smaller images at a more reasonable file size.

Small Talk and Personal Opinion

I couldn't verify how often the site was updated as there are no dates noted. The welcome message does state that the site is updated every Wednesday, but counting the weeks from the last blog entry revealing which set was uploaded, there have been some weeks missed. This also means that the blog hasn't been updated for several months now.

The Alice Malice has potential, but there are some drawbacks: no zip download galleries, and no videos. While it's true the site is amateur and maintained by Alice herself, she needs to realize that in order to attract and retain members, she will have to address these issues. Hopefully will be soon. On the plus side, her photo galleries are very much on target for the cosplay audience in that she places a heavy emphasis on the costumes she wears, rather than quickly getting nude.

The site is new and luckily the price reflects that fact making it a good deal for cosplay fans.
