8th Street Latina has chosen the road less travelled, but I don't think it's the same road that Robert Frost may have had in mind. Instead of working with the same half-Mexican Latina pornstars that every other site and its brother use they've gone hunting in their prey's natural environs: Central and South America. They've brought back bombshell Latina amateurs from places like Venezuela, Cuba, Mexico, Columbia and Puerto Rico. The scenes are all couched in reality porn scenarios--dates, girls getting picked up at the mall, on the beach, etc. and then offered money for sex on tape. The acting lasts a short while at the start of each episode and adds an erotic anticipation to the hardcore that follows it. A few scenes will throw in anal sex or an extra girl or stud to make it a threeway. The hardcore is filmed well and very satisfying.

The site promised high definition but there were no high definition downloads. Instead you'll get a max resolution of 768x432 pixels from the Windows Media and MP4 downloads. The WMVs have a 2.2 mbits/s bit rate while the MP4s have a 1.5 mbits/s bit rate. They both look equally crisp and are very high quality, it's just a shame they weren't offered in true HD resolutions (like 1280x720 or 1920x1080).

The aforementioned formats come as full-length downloads, streams, big clips and short clips. The streaming is best in the Flash video player that is embedded into every episode's page. It has a sharp and crisp image, loads quickly and a nice tray of thumbnail stills that lets you navigate into a scene visually, rather than just clicking on the timeline and seeing where you end up. Most movies run 30-40 minutes long. The movies can also be downloaded in iPod-ready MP4 files.

Every episode comes with two galleries, one is just screen caps from the movies, the other contains real professional pictorials. The shots are too small to be high resolution at 900x602 pixels but are professional and look fantastic. They have great lighting and some great shots of models posing/stripping before the hardcore begins. You can download galleries in zip files.

Small Talk and Personal Opinion

8th Street Latinas is just a huge site, starting to zero in on the 400 scenes mark, though it is something short of that yet at the time of my visit. With those steady weekly updates it shouldn't take too long before it makes it, though. It's been online years and that sort of stability in updates, quality and good porn is something to cherish. If you've joined other porn sites before then you'll already know this. For those picking a pay site for the first time, this one will offer you a positive experience that will be worthwhile.

A membership here also includes full access to the entire Reality Kings network of sites at no extra cost, and all of these sites are tied together in the members area. It's easy to search models, niches or actions across the network or in a specific site. The only two things I think some might hold against 8th Street Latinas are: 1) that there aren't true HD downloads for movies as promised; 2) the site focuses on finding fresh Latina talent rather than working with big name pornstars. If you were after the big name latina pornstars you'll only get a few here, but if you're like me you'll prefer the 8th Street Latina approach.
